Trail Arena — for MTB cyclists
Beitostølen Trail Arena is the most important MTB facility in Valdres with over 100 km of marked trails built especially for mountain bikes.
Trail Standard:
- Green (easy): Wide, well-groomed trails without technical challenges. Suitable for beginners and children.
- Blue (medium): Somewhat narrower, with roots and simple technical parts. Requires basic MTB technique.
- Red (demanding): Steeper, narrower, with drops and jumps. For experienced cyclists.
- Black (expert): Advanced lines, long drops, exposed parts.
Access and map: The trail map is available free of charge at beitostolen.no and in the Trail Arena app. Parking at the Beitostølen Health Sports Centre. Bike hire and guided tours are offered by local operators — book in advance in high season.

Country road from Beitostølen
Valdresflya (recommended)
From the center of Beitostølen, it is 7 km and 450 m up to the top of Valdresflya (1389 m). The road is paved and usually opens in June. The climb is 6–8% on the steepest parts. The view towards Jotunheimen is unique.

Beitostølen–Fagernes (classic)
The classic route down to Fagernes is 47 km and 680 m ascent (from Fagernes). From Beitostølen, it is mostly downhill — 47 km with a slight climb and a nice view of the Strandefjorden. Perfect as an afternoon trip by bus back.
Gravel around Beitostølen
The area around Beitostølen has several great gravel routes on forest roads and saddle roads:
- Syndin trail — 35 km around Syndinfjell, flat to moderate, fantastic views
- Bitihorn round — 28 km with an ascent option to 1607 m
- Tyin edge — 45 km towards Tyin, more demanding, for experienced people

Getting to Beitostølen: The Valdrese Express from Oslo Bus Terminal to Beitostølen: approx. 3.5 hours. Bicycle ticket available. Car: Rv51 from Fagernes (47 km, 45 min).
